Electron irradiation effect on mechanism and kinetics of crystallization in Ni-P amorphous alloy

Description
The effect of radiation on the mechanism and kinetics of crystallization of Ni-P amorphous alloy is studied using the methods of high-voltage electron microscopy and by measuring electric resistance. Irradiation by 2.3 MeV electrons changes the mechanism of crystallization of the amorphous alloy preventing formation of intermediate metastable crystal phase and it increases heat resistance of the amorphoUs alloy. The effect of electron irradiation on the mechanism and kinetics of crystallization is associated with distortions of close order of atom position that hampers crystallization of the amorphous alloy under following heating
