Isotope fractionation of plutonium in thermal ionization mass spectrometry. Direct deposition and resin bead
Description
The plutonium isotope mixture 'MIRF' (Melange Isotopique de Reference Francais) with a 239Pu/242Pu ratio close to unity certified to within 5x10-4, is measured in thermal ionization mass spectrometry by the method of direct deposition on a triple filament and by the resin bead technique. The isotopic fractionation was studied for these two methods and showed a 'mini plateau' in both cases. (orig.)
