Experimental manufacturing of fuel rod simulators with instrument outfit for Fix-II

Description
The length of life of the earlier samples of simulators for the bundle of 36 fuel rods was estimated to be limited. A number of reserve rods have been manufactured and quality control has been performed on 6 complete rods. Improvements have been made in comparison with the earlier samples which displayed a scattering of stage dimensions and power factors. The mounting of thermocouples also caused breakdowns. New manufacturing methods are described. (G.B.)
