Study of polycrystalline alumina for application in thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLD) used for radiotherapy
- 1. Instituto de Pesquisas Energeticas e Nucleares (IPEN), Sao Paulo, SP (Brazil)
Description
Both high purity and carbon-doped alumina are usually applied as thermoluminescent dosimeters for radiotherapy and in diagnostic medicine. The commercial dosimeters are in the form of a single crystal and few data are found for sintered materials. In this work it was developed a study relating the sintered alumina thermoluminescent properties with the microstructure and grain size. (author)
