Procedure for the derivation of radioactivity release limits from the results of the accident analyses, and effects of the amendment of the Radiation Protection Ordinance and revision of the relevant computation models
Description
The safety analyses for the planned repository in the Konrad mine cover above all the analysis of accidents which may lead to release of radioactive substances from the repository and therefore to potential radiation exposure of the environment. The computations of possible radiological effects carried out for this purpose together with the planning reference values of section 28, sub-section 3 of the StrlSchV (Radiation Protection Ordinance) form the basis for the derivation of radioactivity release limits for the waste forms to be stored. The procedure for derivation of limiting values for individual radionuclides and a radionuclide mixture are presented. In particular, impacts are described of new data and regulations, as e.g. the revision of the regulations which form the basis for radiological computations (Radiation Protection Ordinance and general administrative regulation concerning section 45 Radiation Protection Ordinance), with regard to the number of the radionuclides relevant under accident aspects and with regard to the radioactivity release limits. Die Sicherheitsanalysen fuer das geplante Endlager Konrad umfassen insbesondere auch die Analyse von Stoerfaellen, die zu einer Freisetzung radioaktiver Stoffe aus der Anlage und damit zu einer potentiellen Strahlenexposition in der Umgebung der Anlage fuehren koennen. Die dazu durchgefuehrten Berechnungen moeglicher radiologischer Auswirkungen bilden in Verbindung mit den Planungsrichtwerten des Para. 28 Abs. 3 StrlSchV die Grundlage fuer die Ableitung von Aktivitaetsbegrenzungen bei den zur Einlagerung vorgesehenen Abfallgebinden. Die Vorgehensweise bei der Ableitung von Aktivitaetsgrenzwerten fuer einzelne Radionuklide und ein Radionuklidgemisch wird dargestellt und insbesondere der Einfluss der Revision der den radiologischen Rechnungen zugrunde liegenden Verordnungen und Berechnungsgrundlagen wie z.B. die StrlSchV und die Allgemeine Verwaltungsvorschrift zu Para. 45 StrlSchV auf die Anzahl der unter Stoerfallaspekten relevanten Radionuklide und die Hoehe der Aktivitaetsgrenzwerte beschrieben.
