Thermoluminescent dosimetry and X-ray diagnostics

  • 1. Medizinische Akademie, Dresden (German Democratic Republic). Radiologische Klinik

Description

Thermoluminescence dosimetry can be used successfully in radiodiagnostical practice. The advantages and disadvantages of the method are discussed basing on the evaluation of the literature as well as on own studies. These showed a lower limit of measurement of about 100 μGy (CaSO4) rendering possible a more exact measurement of the gonad dose without higher exposure. The measuring error is estimated to be about +-10%. (author)
