Conceptual simulation for interactive training

Description
Conceptual simulation, based on small mini-computers, aims to give an understanding of basic cause and effect relationships in nuclear power plants without representing every detail of the system. The history and design philosophy of conceptual simulation are discussed and a comparison is made with full-scope simulation and engineering simulation. The use of conceptual simulators is illustrated with respect to BWR and PWR examples. (U.K.)
