A new fuelling method for fusion plasma-supersonic molecular beam

  • 1. Southwestern Inst. of Physics, Chengdu (China)

Description

Supersonic molecular beam injection (MBI) is a new fuelling method. It was firstly performed in the HL-1 and HL-1M Tokamak. Owing to the fuelling particles penetrating deeply, the electron density appears as peaking and the value of density limit increases. The improvement confinement is obtained during MBI in the period of the plasma current ramp up. One of the main features for the improvement confinement is that the upper end of density for the linear ohmic confinement regime is elongated to ne-bar = 4 x 1019 m-3. The experiment result implicate that MBI is high efficiency and simple gas fuelling method used for improvement confinement of fusion plasma
