Characterization of preferred site of radioactive waste disposal in Java: using geoelectric method

Characterization of preferred site of radioactive waste disposal in Java is a continuation of the activities of the previous year (2012). In 2013, research activities have been carried out on the characterization of the site selected by geophysical method/geoelectric to obtain subsurface data . Research conducted using the Wenner configuration of Geoelectric method with 2 dimensions. The instrument used is resistivitymeter by 32 and 48 pieces of electrodes by the distance between electrodes 7 m. In this study Res2Dinv software used for processing the data obtained. From the data processing is seen that the stratigraphically below the earth's surface in Karawang and Sumedang district dominated by clay stone and a little clay deposits of water surface area in certain depth. To a depth of 52 m is still not obtained the existence of a layer of the aquifer. For the purpose of disposal of radioactive waste, in the area studied is possible to be recommended as the site chosen for the construction of disposal. (author)
