Phlebography of the sella turcica by a trans-sphenoidal technique

Description
A trans-sphenoidal approach to the filling of spaces within the sella turcica with contrast medium in cadavers is described. The hypophysis appeared on roentgenograms as a contrast medium filling defect. No injury to the hypophysis, carotid arteries or chiasma was seen. The implications of an arachnoid extension into the sella are discussed. (orig.)
