Description
In this academic engineering study, the author reports the use of coulometry as a dosing method which measures the quantity of electricity at stake during a redox reaction, in the case of Americium. He recalls the origins and some of the physical-chemical properties of Americium in different environments (acid, base) and in different states (trivalent, tetravalent, pentavalent, and hexavalent). Thus, the objective is to develop an electrochemical dosing of Americium by using coulometry instead of gravimetric, spectrophotometric or radiometric methods (their drawbacks are indicated). Tests are reported which addressed the chemical efficiency of oxidation, and the current-related efficiency of reduction
