Description

The interaction between M2UO2Cl4, nH2O (M = Rb,Cs) and UO2(OH)2 leads to new complexes M2U2O5Cl4, 2H2O: however, structural determination by X-ray diffraction exhibits discrete tetranuclear anions [(UO2)4O2Cl8(H2O)2]4-: uranyl groups are bonded together in their equatorial plane by O/O or O/Cl double bridges in which oxygen atom is tricoordinated with U-O (bridge) distances lying between 2.20 and 2.29 A. Vibrational spectra are recorded and interpreted and hydrogen bonds discussed. (author)
