Detection of neovascular signals in malignant tumors by pulsed Doppler US
Creators
Description
Two hundred tumors of the liver, kidney, spleen, pancreas, adrenal, colon, ovary, uterus, and breast were examined with duplex Doppler US. In malignant tumors high-frequency signals (4-6 kHz) and high diastolic flow were detected. These findings correlated with arteriovenous anastomoses. Also seen were low-impedance signals with little systolic variation, which correlated well with the presence of sinusoid. Tumor acoustic signals detected by Doppler US are helpful in the diagnosis of lesions
