Trigger efficiencies of BATSE and PVO

  • 1. Los Alamos National Laboratory, SST-9, MS D 436, Los Alamos, New Mexico 87545 (United States)

Description

Trigger efficiencies are important in the analysis of the low end of γ-ray burst peak flux distributions. We here present trigger efficiencies of BATSE and PVO as a function of burst peak flux and explain how they should be used. The efficiencies take into account most trigger conditions, typical burst characteristics (including spectra and time profiles) and γ-ray background conditions. We find a strong dependence of trigger efficiency on the GRB time profiles
