Description
Rate constants for the reduction of cytochrome-c by various pyridinyl radicals have been measured by pulse radiolysis. Radicals formed by adding an electron to bipyridylium compounds reduce cytochrome-c with rate constants of 1.4-2.1 x 108 lmol-1sec-1. Radicals formed by adding an electron to compounds possessing one pyridine ring reduce cytochrome-c with rate constants of 7.2-9.4 x 108 lmol-1sec-1. (orig.)
