What is right and what is wrong. Or: The transparency of science

Description
There are many people who hope to find some orientation by reflecting on basic values. If the basic values can be fixed again there shall be orders of rank for the values and priorities, i.e. instructions for the 'managers', what they shall have to to: how they do it may be left to themselves - provided, of course, that society could effectively control the realization of their tasks. The orientation as to topics of science which had been awaited anxiously shall be part of a general renewal or even a renaissance of the lost old order, of a revision of the basic values or the return to them. Abstract (German)
Viele erhoffen sich heute Orientierung von einer Besinnung auf die Grundwerte. Wenn die Grundwerte wieder feststehen werden, werden sich auch Rangordnungen der Werte und Prioritaeten ergeben, also Anweisungen an die 'Macher', was sie zu tun haben: das Wie kann die Gesellschaft den Machern weitgehend ueberlassen - vorausgesetzt natuerlich, die Gesellschaft kontrolliere wirksam die Durchfuehrung ihrer Auftraege. Die sehnlichst gewuenschte Orientierung in Fragen der Technik wird Teil einer generellen Erneuerung oder auch einer Renaissance der verlorenen alten Ordnung sein, einer Revision der Grundwerte oder der Rueckkehr zu ihnen (orig.)Additional details
