Interphase death of HeLa Zh-63 cells induced by high doses of γ-radiation
Description
Interphase death of HeLa cells has been assessed by the ability of cells to be stained with trypan blue after γ-irradiation with doses from 50 to 2000 krad. A quantitative relationship between average life span of cells and radiation dose has been shown. A decrease of the postirradiation temperature and an increase of the serum content in the growth medium before irradiation have been found to delay the interphase death. Adhesive properties of cells are damaged immediately after exposure
