High-lying doubly excited resonances in the photodetachment of H-

  • 1. The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN), Wako, Saitama 351-01 (Japan)

Description

An 81-channel hyperspherical close-coupling calculation has led to a photodetachment spectrum of H- in excellent agreement with experiments at energies up to threshold for the production of H(n=7), including all the observed resonance structures. Positions of Wannier ridge resonances not only for H- but also for He and Li+ are fitted to a double-Rydberg formula, and the screening parameter in it is found to be remarkably independent of the nuclear charge
