Determination of uranium trace content in stainless steel using solid state nuclear track detectors
Description
Uranium is present as a trace element in all the materials including steel. It is yet to be known if uranium impurity plays any role in affecting the mechanical properties of the steel as boron and other minor constituents do in steel. Uranium distribution in steel samples is of interest for nuclear engineering. Estimation of uranium trace content in steel samples has been made by Particle Track Analysis technique using solid state nuclear track detectors. (author)
