Tomographic data simulation based on the voxelized kernel model and single collision approximation
Description
Nuclear medicine data simulation model for application in the cases of nonuniform 3D objects is developed. Simulation is based on voxelized model of kernels in the first collision approximation, and the multiple scattering is modelled by means of number build-up factor. To reduce the computational burden, the collimator and the gamma-camera are treated in the simplified manner. results are compared to ones from realistic MCNP Monte Carlo simulations. It was proved that the proposed model results and MCNP ones agree more than well. proposed model can be used in clinical everyday praxis because of minor errors and minor computational efforts.
