On the development of cladding and structural materials

Description
The creep-frature behaviour of the irradiated material 1.4970 and possibilities to improve its behaviour are discussed. From this, it follows that the alloy 1.4970 ought to be strengthened more still with regard to creep rupture ductility and strength. The planned optimization programme considers the following parameter variations: 1. Solution heat temperature; 2. cooling rate; 3. thermo-mechanical treatment; 4. chemical modification (B, C, Ti). Es werden das Kriechbruchverhalten des bestrahlten Werkstoffes 1.4970 und Moeglichkeiten zu seiner Verbesserung besprochen. Die Legierung 1.4970, so wird gefolgert, sollte in der Zeitstandsduktilitaet und -festigkeit noch weiter zu ertuechtigen sein. Das geplante Optimierungsprogramm sieht folgende Parametervariationen vor: 1. Loesungsgluehtemperatur, 2. Abkuehlgeschwindigkeit, 3. thermomechanische Behandlung, 4. chemische Modifikation (B, C, Ti). (HR)Additional details
