Description
Doping tests with Al3+ and Mg2+ ions were performed with a view to improving the properties of lithium orthosilicate. This doping caused a change in the α-γ phase transition towards a defined behavior. At the same time, doping diminishes the stability of the material. Tritium release after neutron irradiation in the cyclotron is greatly improved whereas the differences found by measurement of in-pile releases were smaller. (orig.)
