Stock-taking of I-129 in human thyroids

Description

8 human thyroids were examined for I-129 and I-127 throughout the first four months after the Chernobyl accident. I-129 concentrations ranged between 7 and 60 μBq/g FW, thus being within the variation range of the values determined throughout recent years. The I-129-to-I-127 isotope ratio fluctuated between 4x10-9 and 3.5x10-8. (DG)

Abstract (German)

In den vier Monaten nach dem Reaktorunfall wurden 8 menschliche Schilddruesen auf J-129 und J-127 untersucht. Die J-129-Konzentrationen liegen zwischen 7 und 60 μBq/g FG und somit innerhalb der Schwankungsbreite der in den vergangenen Jahren ermittelten Werte. Das Isotopenverhaeltnis J-129/J-127 schwankte zwischen 4x10-9 und 3,5x10-8. (DG)
