Identification of the source of fission gases in KAMINI water
- 1. Fuel Chemistry Division, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam (India)
Description
This paper details the work carried out to determine the fissile nucleus giving rise to the presence of fission gases in KAMINI water. The activity ratios of the radioactive isotopes of krypton and xenon were determined experimentally and compared with the computed values assuming different fissile nuclei as the source of fission. It was demonstrated that the fissioning nucleus giving rise to these fission gases was 233U. (author)
