Neutron crack detection in Czechoslovakia
Description
Methods of neutron crack detection may currently be used at three institutions in Czechoslovakia. At the Institute of Nuclear Research in Rez near Prague the neutron source is the WWR-S reactor which provides at the point of exposure a neutron flux density in the order of 107 n/cm2.s. The SR-O reactor at the SKODA plant provides at the exposure plane a neutron flux with a density in the order of 105 n/cm2.s. The mobile unit of the State Institute for Materials Research operates a 252Cf neutron source. The neutron flux density at the point of exposure in this case does not exceed 104 to 105 n/cm2.s.
