Stress tests performed by the Spanish Nuclear Power Plants and sectoral coordination

Description

Stress tests performed by the Spanish Nuclear Power Plants, following the specification established by ENSREG in the framework of the European Union, have served to reassess the risk and safety of these installations against extreme beyond design basis events, through a process in which the operators, the national regulators and various European institutions against extreme beyond design basis events, through a process in which the operators, the national regulators and various European institutions have been involved. The Sector Stress Tests Coordination group, launched under the umbrella of UNESA, has facilitated the consistency of this process, by means of its dialogue with the CSN and with the European industry, ensuring that all Spanish Nuclear Power Plants have followed the same approach, both in conducting assessments as in planning of the resulting improvement actions.
