Description

For low level counting, a reduction is necessary of the detector background by suitable absorption shielding. This shielding is manufactured of special steel with the lowest possible content of radioactive components, and of lead. It is built from lead bars and shaped bricks into the shape of annuli placed on the support table around the detector. The inner space is lined with Cd and Cu sheets. (M.D.)
