Results on the separation of micro-drops after the extraction process in reprocessing plants for nuclear power plant fuels
Description
This project aims at the separation of smaller drops from liquid process flows. For characterizing the dispersions a drop size measurement technique was adapted. The separationability of the dispersions was investigated and compared with the aid of fibre bed settlers and settlers working electrostaticly. As a result the publication describes the separation performance of the investigated settlers in relation to the ruling influencing parameters. Recommendations for the layout of the fibre bed settler which showed the best separation results were worked out. Examples for the application of these results can be pointed out for all liquid-liquid separation processes in nuclear technology, chemical industry and in the technique of the treatment of waste water. Das Ziel dieses Projektes ist die Abscheidung kleiner Troepfchen aus fluessigen Prozessstroemen. Zur Charakterisierung der Dispersionen wurde eine Tropfengroessenmesstechnik angepasst. Die Trennbarkeit der Dispersionen mit Hilfe von Faserbettabscheidern und elektrostatisch wirkenden Abscheidern wurde untersucht und verglichen. Als Ergebnis dieser Arbeiten liegt die Trennleistung der untersuchten Abscheider in Abhaengigkeit von den massgeblichen Einflussparametern vor. Fuer den trennleistungsstaerkeren Faserbettabscheider wurden Auslegungsrichtlinien erarbeitet. Anwendungsmoeglichkeiten fuer die Ergebnisse bestehen bei allen Fluessig-fluessig-Trennprozessen in der Kerntechnik, in der chemischen Industrie und bei der Abwasserbehandlungstechnik. (orig.)
