Thermal hydraulics assesment of PWR and BWR cores on SBO event referring Fukushima accident

Description
Fukushima accident initiated lesson learning for any other Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) types including Pressure Water Reactor (PWR) type. The main cause of the accident is station blackout (SBO) so that the system for core emergency cooling, decay heat removal, and vessel containment were fails to work. The assessment was done for exploring the published result of the assessments, analysis, and NPP operation experiences a long time before Fukushima accident happened. Furthermore, this assessment also carried out verification with Fukushima accident data to expertise the knowledge for future reactor design development. The assessment results accident pattern similarity of PWR with BWR's one, summaries a recommendation to carry out diversification for emergency cooling system as well as diesel generator system so that the risk of ultimate heatsink failure effected to core melting, could be decreased.
