Neutron radiography of osteopetrotic rat

  • 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Saclay, 91 - Gif-sur-Yvette (France)

Description

The osteopetrotic disease is characterized by bone and cartilage tissue coexistence in the medullary space of long bones. The authors have studied ''congenital osteopetrosis'' of ''op'' rats. Comparing radiography, neutrography and histology, the evolution of the ''osteopetrotic disease'' and the healing of the ill rats by a single injection of bone marrow from normal animals is shown.
