Peculiarity of electronic structure of Y and Pr in the Laves phases with Mg, Al, Fe, Co, Ni

Description
Electronic structure (occupancy of valent d- and s-shells) of Y and Pr in RM2 with Mg, Al, Fe, Co, and Ni Laves phases was determined experimentally by shifting of X-ray K-lines. It was detected that in RM2 with Mg and Al the electronic structures of Y and Pr were practically the some as in metals, however, distribution of three external electrons between d- and s-shells for Y differed from that for Pr. In the Laves phases with 3d-metals (Fe, Co or Ni) the distributions of the external electrons between d- and s-shells for Y and Pr were practically similar and did not depend on d-metal
Abstract (Russian)
Методом смещения рентгеновских К-линий экспериментально определена электронная структура (заселенность валентных d- и s-оболочек) Y и Pr в фазах Лавеса RM2 c Mg, Al, Co и Ni. Обнаружено, что в RM2 с Mg и Al электронные структуры Y и Pr практически такие же, как в металлах, однако распределение трех внешних электронов между d- и s-оболочками для Y существенно иное, чем для Pr. В фазах Лавеса с 3d-металлами (Fe, Co или Ni) распределения внешних электронов между d и s-оболочками для Y и Pr практически одинаковы и не зависят от d-металлаAdditional details
