Assessment and prognosis of the radioecological situation in the water-cooling reservoir

Description

For the assessment of the role of hydrophytes in the radionuclide migration in water reservoirs the dependence of the percentage of radionuclide uptake by hydrophytes from water medium on accumulation factors and biomass, formed by them in water reservoirs, has been calculated. For the prognosis of radiative situation in water cooling reservoirs of the NPP the influence of warm waters on the radionuclide accumulation factors in water plants has been considered. The complexones ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), and hydroxyethylidenediphosphonic acid (HEDP) with the concentrations from 0.1 to 50 mg/l have been shown to influence differently the accumulation levels of 90Sr, 137Cs, 144Ce and 106Ru in water plants. The effect of these complexones on the accumulation factors of the radionuclides under investigation is mainly that of decreasing. The percentage of radionuclide uptake by algae from water under the influence of the complexones has been given
