Study of Photomultiplier Anode-Current Variation with Pulse Gamma-Neutron Irradiation

Description

The variations of the anode current I /SUB a/ with gamma irradiation are chiefly due to processes of radioluminescence fluorescence and phosphorescence and Cerenkov radiation in the structural elements of the photomultiplier. The authors investigate the physical processes that determine variations of I /SUB a/ of a photomultiplier with an antimony-cesium photocathode under the influence of a pulse of gamma-neutron radiation. Measurements of I /SUB a/ during and after irradiation were made with an electrometer amplifier and an oscilloscope
