Environment policies in Bavaria '90

Environmental awareness has grown considerably in the population and in industry since the last Environment Program 1986. New global problems with regional effects, like the greenhouse effect, have become focal points of interest. A new orientation in environmental policy towards more market in environment protection is discussed. The question of modelling our economy and our way of life in a way agreeable to the environment has become a central subject in polities. The State Government takes this development into account in this program. It restipulates the prinicples and targets of its environment policy for the beginning 90ies, and takes a stand on topical subjects. At the same time it is reported on the development of environment quality in Bavaria, and on the State Government's new measures concerning environment policies since 1986.
