Beryllium damage under impact shock
Description
Impact tests are carried out on beryllium plates without macroscopic rupture of the samples. The simplified process is based only on projectile velocity and sample analysis. Pressure induced in the material is deduced from projectile velocity and Hugoniot curves of both impacted and impactor materials. Damage is followed in function of impact pressure. Micrographic observations are presented

Les experiences ont ete realisees a l'aide d'essais de chocs de plaques sans atteindre la rupture macroscopique des echantillons. La procedure experimentale simplifiee est fondee uniquement sur la mesure de la vitesse du projectile et sur l'analyse des echantillons. A partir de la vitesse du projectile et des courbes d'Hugoniot du materiau impacteur et de celui impacte, on peut connaitre la pression introduite dans le materiau. On a ainsi pu suivre l'evolution de l'endommagement en fonction de la pression de choc. Les observations micrographiques sont presenteesFiles
