Description
Tunneling measurements were carried out to reveal superconducting properties of ion-beam-sputtered Be films with high T/sub c/'s of 7 K. Be/BeO/Pb tunnel junctions with ion-beam-sputtered Be base electrodes were constructed for the first time. It was observed that values of 2Δ(0)/kT/sub c/ were 3.1--3.5 for the Be films. These values suggest that ion-beam-sputtered Be films were weak coupling superconductors. It also turned out that BeO, the native oxide of the Be base electrodes, functioned as a good tunnel barrier with low leakage current
