Description
The interactions of accelerated particles including both shell and nuclear interactions are reviewed from the aspects of their analytical applications with an account on the known practical uses. The types of analyses by accelerated particle interactions are: activation analysis (neutron and photon activation), prompt analysis (by prompt nuclear reactions or by charged particles and heavy ion induced x-ray emission like PIXE etc.), analysis based on particle scattering (high-angle Rutherford scattering, resonance and anomalous scattering, forward scattering), analysis by nuclear microprobe. The applications of the nuclear analytical techniques are discussed and an extensive bibliography of the subject is included. (Sz.J.)
