Thermomechanical treatment of FeCuNbSiB nanocrystalline alloy: induced magnetic anisotropy and its thermal stability

Description

A study was made into the behaviour of magnetic anisotropy in FeCuNbSiB alloy after thermodynamical treatment. The treatment was carried out as concurrently with alloy crystallization so after crystallization. Initial specimens constituted amorphous ribbons produced by melt spinning. It was revealed that thermal stability of magnetic properties increase with the temperature of thermomechanical treatment. The induced anisotropy constant was found to increase with tensile stress and heat treatment temperature. Simultaneous accomplishment of nanocrystallization (annealing at 530 deg C for 1 h) and thermomechanical treatment results in higher induced anisotropy. 6 refs.; 3 figs
