Description
This study is performed on four 2.5 MWe emergency diesel generators (EDG) at the Hydro-Quebec's Gentilly-2 nuclear generating station (NGS). EDGs are safety related systems for the case of the loss of off-site power and are subject to a careful preventive maintenance (PM) and periodic testing (PT) program. This study establishes an enhanced PM and PT program with the objective of improving the long term reliability and availability of the EDG. The work was performed using ISO 9001 and preventive maintenance optimisation (PMO) techniques. (author)
