Description
A variety of partitioning and transmutation schemes have been recently proposed, which treat an increasing number of radionuclides. Therefore criteria are discussed to select the processes and nuclides on which promising fuel and target development studies are based. A summary of the planned and ongoing studies at the European Institute of Transuranium Elements is given. (authors)
