Supercooling of metals during homogeneous crystallization

Description

Supercooling in homogeneous solidification of metals Was studied by experimenting with evaporation and condensation of Pb, Bi, Sn. A method was suggested for experimentally determining the supercooling in solidification of metals using ''island'' vacuum condensates. The dependence was investigated of the supercooling upon the angle of wetting of the molten metal with respect to the substrate, and the maximum supercooling in homogeneous solidification of metals was determined
