Description
This paper presents an evaluation of postulated core meltdown accidents in the Limerick Generating Station (LGS). It is restricted to an assessment of core meltdown phenomena and the determination of potential fission product releases. The study concludes that transient events with loss-of-coolant make-up have the largest contribution to long-term health effects. In addition, a limited uncertainty analysis was performed, which indicates that core meltdown phenomena have a significant influence on the the overall uncertainty associated with the estimation of risk
