Calorimetric measurements of energy release in the Nb-Ti-50 superconducting alloy at the irradiation by 8.5 GeV protons

Description

The calorimetric method of measurements of energy release in the Nb-Ti-50 alloy caused by irradiation by 8.5 GeV proton beam is described. The results of measurements at gelium temperatures for sample 2 mm thick are given. The obtained value of energy release was:(2.5+-0.8)x10-13J/protonxgxcm-2. The error is mainly due to uncertainty in determining number of protons passing through sample
