Temperature distribution in the radial reflector and carbon stone of the PR 500 in stationary condition

Description

Automatic translation: The process heat reactor PR 500 is for thermal insulation A carbon stone jacket 86 cm thick is provided between the reflector and the prestressed concrete container for radiation attenuation. The cold cooling gas should be returned through holes in the reflector, which cools the reflector. The temperature distribution in the reflector and carbon stone is calculated for this cooling channel concept and two other cooling concepts. It clearly shows the superiority of the cooling channel concept with regard to maximum temperatures in the reflector. This work was created as part of the collaboration between the Chair of Reactor Technology at RWTH Aachen and the Institute for Reactor Development at KFA Jülich GmbH.
