Moessbauer and infrared studies of some nickel-zinc ferrites
- 1. Indian Inst. of Tech., Madras. Dept. of Physics
Description
Moessbauer effect has been studied in nickel-zinc ferrites of various compositions at room temperature. The chemical isomer shift has been observed to be reasonably constant for different concentrations. The six-line pattern was observed only for three of the nickel-zinc ferrites having lower zinc concentration. Infrared studies are also carried out to understand the band positions attributed to the lattice sites. The presence of Fe2+ in the lattice sites is discussed by means of infrared studies in correlation with Moessbauer studies. (author)
