Stable atomic hydrogen: Polarized atomic beam source
- 1. European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva (Switzerland)
Description
We have carried out experiments with stable atomic hydrogen with a view to possible applications in polarized targets or polarized atomic beam sources. Recent results from the stabilization apparatus are described. The first stable atomic hydrogen beam source based on the microwave extraction method (which is being tested ) is presented. The effect of the stabilized hydrogen gas density on the properties of the source is discussed. (orig.)
