Further investigation of rapid X-ray bursts
Description
A model has been suggested to explain the observation of the rapid X-ray burster MXB1730-335. The period and the energy of the bursts are distinctly different between the initial phase and active phase. Calculation shows that the bursts with energy less than 5 x 10 to the 38th erg are caused only by the tearing mode instability; but bursts with energy more than 8 x 10 to the 38th erg are due to the tearing mode instability which in turn brings about Kruskal-Schwarzschild instability at the inner boundary of the accretion disk
