Description

The first in-situ experiments with a radioactive tracer in a granitic rock were performed in the Josef underground laboratory in 2017. The experiments, the preparation of which took almost four years, were unique in the Czech Republic. Experiments of this type play a key role in verifying numerical models of radionuclide migration in the host environment of the deep geological repository of spent nuclear fuel and high level radioactive wastes.
