Changes in the UV radiosensitivity of plant peroxidase caused by metal ions

  • 1. Bylgarska Akademiya na Naukite, Sofia. Inst. po Fiziologiya na Rasteniyata

Description

The pea peroxidase protein is sensitive to direct UV-irradiation and reacts by changes in its functionality. A well expressed inhibition of peroxidase activity is observed. The experimental data show that some metal ions (Li, Cu, Zn, Mn) may play the role of photosensitizers and after interacting with the enzime protein constitute a factor regulating light-depending changes in peroxidase activity
