An integrated approach for international co-operation

Creators

  • 1. OECD Nuclear Energy Agency, Paris (France)

Description

The extent to which nuclear power will be called on to meet future energy requirements largely depends on the establishment of a wide consensus regarding its ability to provide a satisfactory response to the world's energy, economic and environmental concerns. Nuclear issues must be dealt with in a broader perspective, which inevitably requires new and wider forms of cooperation. This paper describes how a more integrated and multi-disciplinary approach to cooperation at all levels is needed to ensure that the nuclear option is presented accurately and objectively. The role of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency in this regard is briefly reviewed
